The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued an advisory for Thika Superhighway users over an anticipated traffic disruption along the busy road.
In a notice dated Tuesday, July 9, KeNHA revealed that the disruption will affect vehicles headed to Thika from Nairobi.
It was detailed that the disruption would be occasioned by a scheduled construction of a footbridge foundation at Juja High Point.
According to the road agency, the construction work will commence on Wednesday, July 10 to Monday, July 15.
In particular, the working area that will remain closed is the inner lane around Juja High Point.
"KeNHA wishes to notify the public that a section of Thika Superhighway (A2) at Juja High Point will experience traffic disruption on the inner lane of Thika-bound traffic from Wednesday, July 10, 2024, to Monday, July 15, 2024.
"This is to allow for the construction of the mid-span footbridge foundation," read the notice in part.
Therefore, motorists were advised to exercise great caution when approaching the area.
Motorists were also advised to observe the slight diversion from the affected inner lane to other lanes.
The road agency added that there will be traffic marshalls and police to guide traffic along the affected area.
Therefore, motorists were advised to cooperate with the officials to avoid traffic snarlups.
"KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan below and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site," the road agency added.
