Cabinet Secretaries on Thursday, July 12 attended the National Development Implementation Committee (NDIC) meeting before they were fired.
The meeting was chaired by Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi. Head of Public Service Felix Koskei was also in attendance.
The meeting was aimed at taking stock of various development programmes that are being undertaken by the Kenya Kwanza administration.
According to Koskei, the meeting was also held to allow for deliberations on how government programmes would be implemented better.
Other notable issues discussed were the current fiscal state of the country and austerity measures being taken by the government.
"This morning, we held the Biannual National Development Implementation Committee (NDIC) meeting chaired by the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Hon Musalia Mudavadi, at the Kenya School of Government, Kabete.
"Our agenda included assessing the status of government delivery and how to accelerate the implementation of reforms, which are aimed at enhancing government performance and service delivery as directed by the President," Koskei stated.
On his part, Mudavadi urged his collegues to center the activities of the ministries on the needs of Kenyans.
He underpinned that the government needed to listen more to Kenyans owing to the protests witnessed last week.
Notably, the meeting is only held twice a year following the directions issued by President William Ruto.
On the other hand, the meeting was also attended by Principal Secretaries of various State Departments.
The PSs have been tasked with running govt operations until a new Cabinet is named.
After the NDIC meeting, Kenyans.co.ke established that some former CSs held a series of meetings at their offices.
For instance, former CS for Mining, Salim Mvurya hosted mining stakeholders at his office.
His former sports counterpart Ababu Namwamba also met with stakeholders within the football industry.
"Great football chat with Harambee Stars coach, Engin Firat who visited us at our Talanta Plaza offices. From a dead football ecosystem reeling under FIFA suspension we inherited 20 months ago, football is back.
"Junior Starlets are headed to the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in the Dominican Republic. Emerging Stars are gelling. Harambee Stars is growing. AFCON'27 is coming to Kenya. Right trajectory," he stated after the meeting.
