Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has rubbished allegations that he was the latest on the chopping board terming them as empty talks not grounded on any basis.

The Governor strongly refuted the allegations while at the launch of Phase 3 of the ‘Dishi Na County School Feeding Program’ in Umoja 1 Primary School.

He pre-empted rumours making rounds on the internet that a motion to impeach him by a section of MCAs was being prepared.

Sakaja affirmed that his administration will not be derailed vowing to continue serving Nairobians. “We will not be distracted by naysayers. Our focus is on delivering what we promised,” he emphasised.

He also took the opportunity to share the progress his administration has achieved including the successful launch of 17 kitchens in 17 sub-counties.

In a directive to his executive team, Sakaja urged them to ignore such speculations and solely focus on their service delivery mandate.

"We have a mandate and we don't have time for rumours. Our priority is to work for our people, not to engage in gossip," Sakaja affirmed.

The Nairobi Governor further refuted claims of having being ejected from President William Ruto's delegation to China.

To clear the air about the matter, he confirmed he was not among the dignitaries in the president’s entourage saying that he was already committed to launching projects within Nairobi.

"Which plane are people talking about? I was supposed to be in Umoja today, not in China. Those are just rumours," Sakaja joked.

Commenting on recent political developments, the Governor commended President Ruto for bringing on board the opposition. "Many were sceptical about my decision to work with the opposition, but now it’s clear that we have a national government of inclusivity that will deliver. We fully support that," he asserted.
