Three people died on Sunday in an accident involving a boda boda and a lorry on the Jordan Bridge along Kima-Esibuye Road in Vihiga County.
It is alleged that the boda boda rammed into an oncoming lorry resulting in the immediate death of the passengers and their rider.
The two passengers on the boda boda and their rider were young football players playing in local football clubs.
Eyewitnesses stated the three succumbed to their injuries after the gruesome accident. Pictures seen by Kenyans.co.ke show the three bodies on the road.
The bodies of the deceased were taken by the police who arrived at the scene immediately.
According to Francine Muchile, the chairperson of the Boda Boda Association Vihiga County, he received reports about the accident on Sunday afternoon.
Upon arriving at the scene, Muchile discovered that three young football players from the area had died as a result of their injuries.
The chairman, therefore, warned riders to always observe road safety rules and ride safely on the road to avoid causing accidents in the future.
