Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Sunday fished out a notorious suspect who conned a foreign national over Ksh500,000 after stupefying his drink. The suspect was discovered in a hideout in Kasarani, Nairobi.

In a statement on Sunday, the DCI indicated that the suspect, a lady, has been on the police radar following reports that have been filed regarding her past activities.

The lady also reportedly robbed the foreign national of two mobile phones among other items before fleeing the scene.

''The events that followed left behind a stupefied host, with the suspect stealing USD 4,000 (Ksh519,577.20), Ksh10,000, a Samsung S20, and a Corn C105 phone before disappearing,’’ DCI statement read in part.

The lady is reported to have used the money that she robbed the Chad national to purchase a television set and cooker among other items that were recovered during the raid.

''Also notable around Consolata's base was a newly purchased 75-inch Samsung TV worth Ksh107,000 as per the receipts and a Ramtons cooker worth Ksh55,000. The items, both which were purchased after the incident, are believed to be proceeds of crime,’’ DCI added.

The lady is reported to have stupefied the drinks of the Chad national before making away with the money that she obtained from the pockets of the individual.

The detectives added that the lady took advantage of the foreign national following hours of merry-making at Gemini and Quiver clubs around Milimani.

This was after the lady convinced the national that they retreat to his residence that he had hired with a promise of a good ending.

''Her arrest resulted from a report filed at Kilimani Police Station by a Chadian national, who informed detectives that a city damsel had washed his wallets after a night of merrymaking at Gemini and Quivers clubs,’’ the DCI revealed in a statement.

''In his November 9 report, the victim alleged to have retreated to his residence located at Spring Gardens Apartments in the company of his catch, Consolata, having downed several shots of their choice frothy waters,’’ the DCI added.

The suspect was since moved to Kilimani Police Station as investigations into the incident continue, before her presentation in court on Monday, November 18, this year.
