Police have launched a manhunt for the killer(s) behind the alleged brutal murder of a 13-year-old boy in Kamulu, Nairobi.
This is after the boy’s body was discovered in a thicket with stab wounds four days after he was reported missing.
The boy was found dumped just 200 meters from his grandmother’s home after he had last been seen in an estate in Kamulu wearing his school uniform. He had disappeared on his way home from school.
According to the boy’s grandmother and a neighbour who discovered him, the boy was found with multiple stab wounds in his stomach, neck, and hands.
“I was called by one of the neighbours and told to go and identify a body. Apparently, a boy’s body had been found in a thicket next to a neighbour’s shop. In my head, I knew it was my grandson,” the boy’s grandmother narrated.
“When we went to the bush, we found out that it was indeed my grandson in his school uniform and bag. He had one big stab wound that went all through the stomach and other stab wounds in the neck and hands,” she added.
The family of the boy has decried the motive behind the heinous act and has been left pondering on who would want to cause such harm to their family.
“If you see how my child died, you will recognise that it was a very painful death for a small child. It looked like he was struggling and the stab wounds on the hand show that. Plus, he had other stab wounds and was missing his shoes,” the boy’s mother stated.
Even as the police launched the probe to unravel the circumstances behind the bizarre murder, the boy’s family has called upon the police to expedite investigations adding that progress has been slow.
“The police said they started investigations but we have not heard from them since. They asked me whether I had disagreed with anyone but I told them I have no enemies,” the boy’s grandmother stated.
“One thing I would like to plead for is for us to get justice. If there is any way we can know who committed the crime and why it happened, we would want to know,” the boy’s father stated.
The boy’s brutal murder comes amidst rising cases of insecurity in the Kamulu region citing recent cases of a boy being sodomised and a woman being raped.
The area residents alleged there might be a connection between these crimes and have urged the relevant authorities to pull up their socks and bring an end to the menace.
