Famous comedian and radio show host Mulamwah, formally David Oyando, on Tuesday, February 25, announced his departure from Milele FM.
In a statement, Mulamwah revealed that he would no longer be hosting his show, Konki, over a contractual disagreement.
“End of the show konki. I quit. It was a nice run. We finally parted ways with Milele FM and Media Max Networks Ltd. The Contract came to an end and we could not agree on renewal terms,” Mulamwah stated.
Mulamwah took the opportunity to thank the management and fans of the Konki show for their impact during his time hosting the show.
“Thanks to my colleagues and management for the years of work I have gained experience and learnt a lot. To Konki fans we will still meet on many other platforms,” he stated.
At the same time, he seemingly hinted at his next steps upon his exit, centered away from the radio studio but still in the digital realm.
“A new YouTube show and a Mulamwah stand-up special are coming up (limited tickets available), among many other plans in stock,” Mulamwah remarked.
Mulamwah’s withdrawal marks his second exit from Milele after a contractual issue in 2023 triggered his exit. The issue was promptly resolved and he was back at Milele a week later.
Before that, Mulamwah started his journey at the Mediamax-owned station in May 2022, fulfilling a long-held aspiration to work in radio.
At the station, Mulamwah co-hosted the Konki show, a daily afternoon show airing from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm alongside Meshack Jillian.
The show quickly gathered a dedicated listenership with the dynamic partnership gaining recognition for blending humour and engaging discussions.
Aside from his radio exploits, Mulamwah has gained nationwide recognition as a content creator with his content gathering millions of views and going viral across his social media platforms.
