Motorists using the Lang’ata Road have been warned of heavy traffic on Saturday, March 1, following the upcoming event by Grammy Award Winning artist Burna Boy.

Burna is expected to hold an iconic musical event at the Uhuru Gardens, off Lang'ata Road, and the event organizers have warned motorists that the event may cause traffic and delays.

"We would like to inform you that the upcoming event at Uhuru Gardens(off Lang'ata Road) will cause significant traffic disruption. Expect road closure, detours, and congestions, especially during the start and end of the event," the organizers advised in a notice on Wednesday.

Motorists have been advised to plan to allow extra travel time and avoid any inconveniences. The gates of the event are expected to open at 3 pm, and close at 9 pm, the event is expected to run throughout the night.

No entry will be permitted after 9 pm, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to avoid disappointment. Organizers have also emphasized the importance of checking ticket types to ensure entry through the correct gates.

The event is expected to disrupt normal operations at Lang'ata Road, Likoni Road, and the link from the Southern Bypass to Likoni Road via the Carnivore grounds.

The organizers have also advised the attendees to use public transport like matatus, taxis, and boda boda due to the limited parking availability at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.

This is expected to help reduce congestion and ensure smoother traffic flow in the area.

Both motorists and the event attendees have been advised to stay on the lookout for traffic updates through Madfun, the organizers, and follow all signage and instructions from the relevant road authorities.

Attendees are expected to experience a world-class experience as Burna Boy will be bringing his iconic band, The Outsiders, to the event.

Known for their electrifying live performances, the band will deliver Afrofusion hits, powerful instrumentals, and high-energy stagecraft.

South African DJ and producer Virgo Deep, one of the pioneers of Amapiano, is also set to perform.

Burna Boy is coming to perform in Kenya at a time when the country has been criticized by international artist Chris Brown who revealed that he would not perform in Kenya since the country does not have the necessary resources to host him.
