The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has invited suppliers to bid for various tenders, including the supply of dust coats, clinic drugs, cleaning services, and insurance coverage, with some of the tenders reserved for special groups.
In a notice issued via the government publication MyGov on Tuesday, TSC noted that some of the tenders have been reserved for marginalised groups, including women, youth, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
The tenders, which cover the 2024-2025 financial year, were announced in an official notice from the TSC, with a deadline for submission set between 18th and 19th March 2025.
The commission has also scheduled a sensitisation workshop to educate youth, women, and PWDs on how to access government procurement opportunities.
“TSC intends to conduct Supplier Sensitisation on Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) to Youth, Women, and People Living with Disabilities on 26th March 2025 from 9.00am to 12.00pm at TSC House, Upper Hill, Kilimanjaro Road, Nairobi,” the commission stated in its notice.
Bidders interested in participating in the tendering process can access detailed documents from the Supply Chain Management Services Division at TSC House or download them from the TSC website and the Public Procurement Information Portal (PPIP) free of charge.
Among the listed tenders, the supply and delivery of white and blue dust coats for the TSC headquarters is reserved for women, as is the supply of clinic drugs and non-pharmaceutical items.
Youth-led businesses have also been prioritised in tenders such as the provision of window-cleaning services and the installation of local area networks at TSC offices across Kenya.
Additionally, the provision of internal and external window-cleaning services at TSC House, under a two-year framework contract, has been reserved for youth-led businesses.
Another tender reserved for youth is the supply, delivery, and installation of local area networks at various TSC offices, including one regional and four county offices in Kenya. The same tender for local area network installation at TSC headquarters has also been reserved for youth.
Some tenders remain open to all qualified suppliers, including the provision of comprehensive group assurance cover for TSC commissioners and secretariat staff, which requires a tender security deposit of Ksh1 million. Similarly, the provision of maintenance services for printers at TSC headquarters requires a security deposit of Ksh40,000.
The commission has outlined strict guidelines for submission, requiring firms to register their details via email before forwarding bid documents.
To ensure transparency, bidders must submit their documents in sealed envelopes clearly marked with the tender number and description. These should be addressed to the Commission Secretary and deposited in the Tender Box at TSC headquarters before the stipulated deadlines. Late submissions will not be considered.
Interested firms must ensure their bids include essential details such as the company name, address, tender name, telephone number, and email address. Additionally, bulky documents should be delivered directly to the Head of Procurement’s office at TSC House.
TSC has also scheduled a pre-bid meeting for select tenders on March 11, 2025, where potential bidders can seek clarifications.
