11 Parties to Endorse NASA Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga

The National Super Alliance (NASA) will next week hold a major rally to endorse the nomination of Raila Odinga as the presidential candidate.

In the event whose date is yet to be announced, 11 parties will also endorse Odinga as well as his manifesto which will also be unveiled during the same ceremony.

Among the parties which will back the ODM leader during the meeting, which has been termed as historic, is former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu's NARC party.

Others include Muungano Party led by Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, Chama Cha Uzalendo, Maendeleo Party and Federal Party of Kenya (FPK).

The parties will first hold delegates conferences across the city to formalise the exercise before announcing their endorsement.

According to the FPK Secretary General Kennedy Okello, his party decided to support the Opposition leader since he has the interests of Kenyans at heart.

“It will be a big day since we are meeting to endorse a leader who has the interests of Kenyans at heart. Our manifesto respects the chapter on integrity and we cannot work with Jubilee Party which is known to give false promises and has failed Kenyans in all areas,” stated Okello.

Last week, President Uhuru Kenyatta was endorsed in a similar fashion by five parties including Jubilee, KANU, Maendeleo Chap Chap and Kirinyaga gubernatorial aspirant Martha Karua's NARC-Kenya.
