The Public Service Commission (PSC) has advertised more than 243 vacant positions across multiple ministries within the civil service.
In the notice issued on Tuesday, April 1, via the government publication MyGov, the roles include senior and mid-level positions, with the National Treasury, Lands, and Foreign Affairs ministries leading in vacancies.
The National Treasury has the highest number of openings, with 18 positions, including Senior Deputy Director (2 posts), Deputy Director (8 posts), and Assistant Director (5 posts) roles in Macro and Fiscal Policy. The ministry is also seeking a Director General for Economic Planning and a Secretary for Economic Planning Monitoring.
The State Department for Lands and Physical Planning has advertised 23 vacancies, including a Senior Deputy Director for Physical Planning and Assistant Directors for Land Valuation and Cartography.
In the Foreign Affairs ministry, 22 positions are up for grabs, including a Director General for Foreign Affairs and multiple Deputy Director General roles for diplomatic services. The department is also recruiting Secretaries to oversee foreign service management.
The State Department for Housing and Urban Development has listed 44 vacancies, including Director of Housing Infrastructure, Director of Urban Governance, Management & Resilience, Deputy Directors in Housing Infrastructure, Civil Servant Housing Scheme and Estate Management, as well as Chief Superintending Building Surveyor.
The others under the same department are: Deputy Director of Urban Governance, Management & Resilience, Deputy Director of Metropolitan Planning & Environment, Deputy Director of Urban Development, Deputy Director of Land Surveys, and Senior Superintending Engineer (Civil/Structural).
The advert also points to Senior Principal Superintending Quantity Surveyor, Assistant Director of Slum Upgrading, and Assistant Director of the Civil Servants Housing Scheme.
The Energy Ministry is seeking 27 professionals, including a Secretary for Electrical Power Development and engineers specialising in renewable energy and geo-exploration.
Other ministries with openings include Wildlife (7 roles), Blue Economy and Fisheries (2 roles), and Gender and Affirmative Action (2 roles). The PSC emphasised that the recruitment aims to enhance service delivery and inclusivity in line with constitutional values.
Interested candidates must apply online via the PSC portal by April 22. The commission warned against fraudsters soliciting bribes and reiterated that the process is free.
