Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Nigerian cleric who previously claimed to have predicted President William Ruto’s rise, has now issued another prophecy: that Ruto’s political fortunes are waning and his 2027 re-election bid is under threat.

The prophet, who leads the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church in Nigeria, has warned that Ruto may not secure victory in the upcoming presidential election, citing the removal of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as a turning point.

In a statement seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Ayodele claimed that Ruto now has only a 15 per cent chance of winning the 2027 elections.

According to the prophet, Ruto is currently engaged in too many battles that will ultimately lead to his rejection if he does not act.

He further revealed that the youth will reject the president and that if he is not careful, they will disgrace him out of office.

"I pity Ruto; his time is almost up. If he doesn’t make the adjustment, he has only a 15 per cent chance of winning the election. He may take it seriously or not, but the removal of the former deputy president began his downfall. He is engaged in too many unnecessary battles, and this will lead to his rejection if he doesn’t know what to do," Ayodele stated.

''The youths will reject him and seriously disagree with him. Ruto hasn’t seen anything yet; if he isn’t careful, they will disgrace him out of office.''

The prophet also warned Gachagua, who found himself out of the government following his impeachment last year, to pray against physical and spiritual trouble.

''The former deputy president also needs to pray for himself not to be troubled physically and spiritually. Ruto must not sleep if he thinks he wants to win the next election; If not with Gachagua, he will face political rejections, disadvantages, and troubles. What I am seeing ahead of him will shock him if he doesn’t wake up."

Meanwhile, Primate Ayodele had in a video last year, before the removal of the former Mathira MP, warned Ruto that if his deputy president goes down, he would also follow suit.

''If the deputy president goes down, Ruto is also going down. He should look at it very well. Meanwhile, the man is prepared for the consequences, but Ruto will also be affected. It is better he settles this amicably,'' he shared in a video last year.

In June last year, the prophet asked Ruto to retrace his steps to secure a second term in office. This was after the nationwide demonstrations opposing the Finance Bill 2024.

In the message, the prophet emphasised that he had received the warning from God and urged Ruto to adhere. He added that the president still had time to reverse the current situation, but if he only listened to the warning.
