Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs, Ali Hassan Joho, has announced the appointment of Ibrahim Malow Noor as a member of the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute.
Noor, who will serve in the role for the next three years, is not new to Kenyans, having previously served as a Garissa County Officer and been involved in a Ksh233 million graft case in 2021.
In the same breath, Joho's counterpart in the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, Opiyo Wandayi, appointed Carren Akinyi Olweny and Abdisalan Adow Abdi as members of the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency. The appointees will serve for the next three years, effective July 11.
In the Ministry of Health, CS Aden Duale appointed Pauline Nyokabi as a member of the Digital Health Agency for a three-year term. Nyokabi assumed the position following the revocation of Linda Murugi Gebson’s appointment.
Dr Francis Owino, who was appointed as Commissioner of the Public Service Commission in December 2024, has also been appointed as a member of the Kenya School of Government Council.
He was appointed alongside Leonida Chelagat Mitei by Human Capital Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku and will serve for the next three years.
Hamza Alio Abdi was also appointed by Trade CS Lee Kinyajui to be a member of the Export Processing Zones Authority Board for the next three years, effective July 13.
Other leaders who have been reappointed include Ilrasayon Neepe, Linnet Mirehane, and Rose Auma Omamo, who have been reappointed to the Board of the Kenya Airports Authority, the Kenya School of Government Council, and the National Social Security Fund Board of Trustees, respectively.
The reappointments were made by CSs Davis Chirchir, Geoffrey Ruku, and Alfred Mutua, respectively.
Water, Sanitation and Irrigation CS Eric Muuga reappointed Regina Ndambuki as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Tanathi Water Works Development Agency and Geoffrey Rukuja as a member of the Board of Directors of Tana Water Works Development Agency.
Muuga also reappointed Nasri Sahal Ibrahim as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Northern Water Works Development Agency.
To facilitate ongoing changes at the Kenya Museum, Gender CS Hanna Wendot has appointed Edwin Abonyo as the Chairperson of the National Museums of Kenya Board for the next three years.
