The Kenya Meteorological Department has urged Kenyans in several regions across the country to brace for more rains, chilly conditions, and strong winds this week.
According to the department's weekly forecast, rainfall is expected to continue in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley and the Coast.
Furthermore, strong southerly to south-easterly winds with speeds exceeding 25 knots are expected to hit the Coast, South-eastern lowlands, North-eastern and North-western Kenya.
Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi counties are expected to experience sunny intervals in the morning throughout the week, and showers during the afternoons, except Tuesday afternoon when it is expected to remain sunny.
Cloudy skies are expected throughout the week, except on Saturday night, when showers are expected in a few areas.
According to the weatherman, the maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 28°C while the minimum temperature will be 7°C.
Daylong sunny intervals and cloudy conditions are expected to prevail during the night in Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana River County, throughout the week.
According to the weatherman, the maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 31°C, while the minimum temperature will be 8°C.
It is predicted that residents of Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale counties, as well as Tana River County, will experience showers over a few places for most of the week, apart from Saturday afternoon and evening.
These counties are expected to experience a maximum temperature of 30°C and a minimum temperature of 20°C.
It is predicted that throughout the week, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot counties will be hit with showers accompanied by thunderstorms for most of the week.
The maximum temperatures during this period in these counties are expected to be 31°C, while the minimum temperatures will be 08°C.
Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties are set to experience daylong sunny intervals and cloudy conditions during the night this week. The maximum temperature is expected to be 35°C and the minimum of 14°C.
Sunny intervals throughout the day are set to be experienced in Turkana and Samburu counties, with a maximum temperature of 35°C and a minimum of 08°C.
