Popular Nairobi Commuter bus company, Super Metro, has broken its silence hours after one of its vehicles was set ablaze by rowdy boda boda riders along the Thika Superhighway.

In a statement on Tuesday morning, the matatu Sacco expressed remorse following the death of a boda boda rider who was allegedly knocked down and crashed by the company bus.

Super Metro went ahead to provide a detailed explanation regarding yesterday evening's occurrence. It disclosed that the boda rider was knocked down while its vehicle was travelling downhill at Juja.

According to the company, a tuk-tuk ahead of the bus attempted to change lanes, prompting a motorbike rider, who was overtaking at high speed, to swerve in an effort to avoid a collision, only for the rider to be knocked by the bus.
