Ruto, CSs Make Over 450 New Appointments to Govt

President William Ruto, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba, Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, and Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano have made a series of new appointments across different institutions.

In a gazette notice dated November 21, Ruto appointed James Waore Dianga as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Lake Basin Development Authority.

 The Head of State said that Waore will serve in the role for three years, with effect from November 21, 2025.

"In Exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 (1) (a) of the Lake Basin Development Authority Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint JAMES WAORE DIANGA to be Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Lake Basin Development Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 21st November, 2025," the notice read.

On the other hand, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba appointed Peter Kaiyoro as the non-executive Chairperson of the Council for Tharaka University.

According to the education boss, Keoyoro will serve the role for the next three years, effectively from November 21.

Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has reappointed  John Mtuta as a member of the  Board of the Agriculture  Finance Corporation for the period of three years.

Francis Agar has been appointed by the Energy Cabinet Secretary, Opiyo Wandayi, as a member of the Nuclear Power Energy Agency.

With effect from November 21, Wandayi said that Agar will be a member of the board for a period of three years.

Lastly, Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano has appointed 491 individuals to be honorary wardens, who will be responsible for different conservation areas across the country for the next three years.

The wardens will be responsible for different conservation areas, including Central Rift, Coast, Eastern Region, Mountain, Nation Cadre, Northern, Southern, Tsav, and Western, according to Miano.

"IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 12(5) of the Wildlife Conservation and Management Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife appoints the persons named in the second column of the Schedule to be honorary wardens responsible for the areas respectively specified in the third column, for a period of three (3) years," the notice read.
