President Uhuru Kenyatta Warns Chirau Ali Mwakwere to Stop Attacking Jubilee

President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned former Kenyan ambassador to Tanzania, Chirau Ali Mwakwere to stop abusing his government or else he will expose his past misdeeds.

Mr Kenyatta said he had given Mr Mwakwere the second lifeline when he appointed him ambassador after losing in the Kwale Senate race in 2013.

"I was shocked when he joined our opponents after giving him the ambassadorial post. Now he is abusing my administration (saying) that we have grabbed land and other silly claims.

“Stop the propaganda because we can expose you easily since we have your records. Do not forget that we have all the records of all previous governments and we know what you are,” the President warned.

President Kenyatta mentioned that it was Mwakwere and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka who signed away mining rights without considering the welfare of the people of Kwale.

Deputy President William Ruto on his part accused the Opposition of being responsible for putting the interest of the people in jeopardy while pretending to care about them.

“Minerals will not be taken from Kwale County without the due process being followed and without taking into consideration the interest of the people,” Ruto stated.

Kwale County Governor Salim Mvurya and his deputy Fatuma Achani also criticised Mwakwere for being hypocritical.

The Governor stated that the land where the Kwale County Assembly is being constructed was recovered from the former minister and it surprised him that Mwakwere had the audacity to point fingers at other people.

Ms Achani said the former minister had been rejected by the people of Kwale before and would still face the same fate this time.

The leaders spoke after launching the construction of the Lunga Lunga to Vanga Road.

Mr Mwakwere is seeking to be the next Kwale Governor on a Wiper Democratic Movement party ticket and will face off with Governor Mvurya in the August elections.
