NASA to Hold Mega Rally in Nairobi on Sunday

The National Super Alliance (NASA) has announced a historic rally set for Sunday in Nairobi.

Speaking on Friday, Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero declared that the Alliance was planning the mega event where close to one million supporters are expected to attend.

The event will be held at a time when presidential candidates will be presenting their nomination papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC).

Kidero further stated that the supporters who attend the event will also escort NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga to the IEBC offices.

The governor assured that he would lead other Opposition leaders on Saturday to inspect the venue of the event to ensure that it would accommodate the one million followers.

He maintained that the Alliance would comb every corner of the country to ensure that they get support from all the 42 tribes in the country.

All presidential candidates are expected to present their documents as they seek the final approval to be on the ballot during the August 8 General Election.

Meanwhile, the High Court has barred the electoral body from rejecting signatures of voters belonging to political parties if submitted by the independent candidates.

Earlier in the week, the IEBC caught the aspirants by surprise demanding that they must present a list of 2000 signatures of voters who don't belong to any political party.

However, one of the candidates, Nazlin Umar, moved to court to have the decision quashed.
