Details of the Accident that Left Rachel Shebesh Admitted at Nairobi Hospital

Nairobi Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh has been bedridden for close to a week now after she was found to have a life-threatening infection.

Kenyans.co.ke has established that the Jubilee politician sustained an injury from a barbed wire during one of her political campaign rallies.

The wound that was on her foot became infected and when it was inspected by doctors they declared it septic.

Sepsis develops when the chemicals in the immune system responsible for fighting off infections damage cells in the whole body. In severe cases, it leads to septic shock, which is a medical emergency.

Confirming the report, one of Shebesh's close aides told Kenyans.co.ke that the incumbent Woman Representative is likely to be discharged on Monday.

"She got hurt during a scuffle in one of her political rallies when her leg was scraped by barbed wire and afterwards the wound became septic leading to her being admitted to hospital.

"We expect her to be discharged by Monday 5th but she won't be as mobile as she was because the doctors have ordered bed rest for her," the aide explained.

Her hospitalisation has seen many high profile politicians in Kenya visiting her at the Nairobi Hospital, top among them being President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto.

Her rival from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Esther Passaris, also paid Shebesh a courtesy call on Monday.
