President Uhuru Kenyatta Apologizes to Nakuru Residents Over Bad Roads

President Uhuru Kenyatta was on Saturday forced to apologise to the residents of Nakuru County over the state of infrastructure in the area.

Speaking after enduring a pot-holed 4 kilometres long stretch between Salgaa and Rongai trading centres, President Kenyatta stated that the road was an embarrassment to his administration.

Kenyatta said that the poor road was a huge let-down considering that he was a resident of the area and promised that it would be fixed.

“I am a resident of Rongai and this road is a big let-down and I therefore apologise and I promise I will make sure it is fixed,

“Count on me on this. I will not even send my deputy to come and launch the repairs. I will come personally,” said Kenyatta.

He appealed to the residents to give him a second term, enumerating that his administration was planning to extend the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) to other parts of the country.

“SGR will be extended to Eldoret, Kitale and other parts of the Western region to spur growth in agriculture and other business ventures,” said Kenyatta at Salgaa.

President Kenyatta reiterated that the Jubilee administration had connected rural communities to the national grid, upgraded health services and infrastructure and transformed the lives of many Kenyans.

He was accompanied by several leaders including Jubilee gubernatorial aspirant Lee Kinyanjui, Governor Kinuthia Mbugua and Susan Kihika.
