Independent Candidate Lucy Sila Steps Down for Jubilee Party's Agnes Kavindu in Machakos County Woman Representative Contest

A Machakos Woman Representative candidate is reported to have bowed out of the race in support of Agnes Kavindu Muthama who is vying for the seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.

According to a report by Musyi FM, Ms Lucy Sila who was vying as an Independent Candidate said that she believes Ms Kavindu stands the best chance to win against the incumbent, Dr Susan Musyoka.

Ms Kavindu is the estranged wife of National Super Alliance (NASA) leader and Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama.

She made headlines when she got a late entry ticket to contest for the seat under a Jubilee ticket.

Their rocky marriage and divorce have been the subject of discussion as Mr Muthama denied links with her but Ms Kavindu recently revealed that they were still in close association.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) had last week cleared seven candidates to vie for the position, among them the incumbent Dr Musyoka who is vying as an independent candidate.

Others in the race are Ms Benta Ayango Maura of Agano Party, Wiper Party's Joyce Kamene Kasimbi, Maendeleo Chap Chap’s Francisca Mutinda, Rita Ndunge and Jane Ndeti who is vying on a Chama Cha Uzalendo Party ticket.
