Billionaire Businessman Zedekiah Bundotich Kiprop Buzeki defies Deputy President William Ruto Order to Step Down

Billionaire businessman Bundotich Kiprop alias Buzeki has publicly defied Deputy President’s William Ruto’s demand for him to shelf his campaign in favour ofUasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago.

A defiant Buzeki announced that he would not step down for Governor Mandago hours after DP Ruto had asked him to support the incumbent.

“I am an independent and that is final. I will not back off and if Ruto supports him (Mandago) that is fine.” Buzeki defiantly declared.

He expressed confidence that he would win the August 8 polls and said that he would let the people decide.

The businessman stated that the governor was Ruto’s project and that he did not stand for anything and had failed to deliver to the people.

Standing firm behind his decision to run for the governorship, Buzeki assured that the people of Uasin Gishu would not be intimated as it was their democratic right to vote for who they wanted.

He, however, declared that he would accept defeat if the elections were fair and requested his opponent to do the same.

Ruto had earlier in Kapseret asked Buzeki to drop out of the race to support Mandago’s run for the top county seat.
