A village in Kisumu is mourning the loss of two children of the same family who died from suspected food poisoning.
Dickens Omondi and his brother, together with other family members had attended a funeral at a neighbor’s house where they ate food suspected to have gone bad.
Omondi's brother was taken to hospital when he started complained of stomach pains.
He died at the hospital on Tuesday.
According to The Nation, Omondi was found dead in their home on Wednesday, foaming at the mouth.
Their mother, Beatrice Auma, says she suspects that the rice they ate at the funeral was the cause of the poisoning.
Another neighbor of hers was admitted in hospital alongside her three children and are currently in critical condition.
Several other people who ate the food were also taken to hospital and treated for food poisoning.
