Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama Runda Home to Serve as NASA Tallying Center

A palatial Runda residence allegedly owned by Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama would be the National Super Alliance (NASA) tallying centre, a local daily has revealed.

According to the daily, Senator Muthama’s private home has been converted into offices and the NASA’s nerve centre during the August 8 polls.

The house is reportedly surrounded by a high perimeter wall, with guards from a private firm conducting regular patrols on the lush grounds.

It features a high-tech firewall to protect high-end electronic equipment that has reportedly been installed and was being tested.

The sources revealed that that the computer equipment would be interlinked with other centres in Tanzania and Germany.

The centre would also be part of the three alternate sites that have been identified by NASA with a firewall impenetrable by local communication service providers and the intelligence community.

The source added that NASA would also be using communication experts from Kenya, Germany and Ghana to help in the maintenance of the computer network and equipment.

Senator Muthama sits in the 12-member NASA technical committee and deputises Musalia Mudavadi- the alliance’s head of campaigns.
