13 Year Old Boy Who Killed Girlfriend Found Guilty by a Naivasha Court

A 13-year-old boy who killed his 11-year-old girlfriend a year ago has been found guilty of murder by a Naivasha Court.

High Court Judge Christine Meoli in her ruling handed the minor a three-year probation sentence in Kimumu Rehabilitation Centre in Eldoret for counselling.

The boy from Githinji Primary School had reportedly stabbed the girl seven times in the stomach, chest and head using a kitchen knife.

He had in his defence, said that when he was having sex with the girl, a tall man with a panga and a shiny knife appeared and ordered him to stab her.

"He ordered me to stab the girl several times then I went to the deceased sister and informed her what I had done," he said.

The girl, who was the boy’s classmate and neighbour, was found lying in a pool of blood next to the murder weapon.

Since she was still conscious, she positively identified the boy as her attacker.

Judge Meoli, however, termed the boy's claim that he was directed by an “unknown force’ as fiction and an invention of the minor.

“The accused defence is unbelievable, conjured to absolve him and the prosecution has proven the case beyond any reasonable doubt,” said Meoli.

The Judge noted that the 13-year old had come from a difficult background and a dysfunctional family and needed a lot of counselling.

She noted that the deceased might have tried to resist having intercourse with the boy leading to the fatal attack.

The minor was represented by lawyer Francis Mburu.
