Nyando MP Fred Outa Rejected by Kano Clan After Endorsing Anyang' Nyong'o for Kisumu Governor

Nyando Member of Parliament Fred Outa has been rejected by his clan after he endorsed Senator Anyang' Nyong'o for Kisumu Governor instead of the incumbent Jack Ranguma.

Mr Outa and Governor Ranguma both hail from the Kano Clan which made the declared support for Ranguma's rival be viewed as betrayal.

The Kano people, who have sided with the incumbent, accused Outa of  "spoiling the political broth" for them and overlooking the clan.

The rejection has caused the Nyando MP to plan a crisis rally in his home turf of Kano in a bid to secure blessings from the community in his Senatorial bid.

Mr Outa ditched his tribesman saying that he endeared the new leadership values and alternative philosophies embodied by Prof. Nyong'o.

Also facing a similar rejection as Outa is Nyando parliamentary hopeful Mr Jared Okello, who is also supporting Nyong'o's candidature.

Senator Nyong'o managed to clinch the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) nomination ticket after garnering 164,110 votes against Ranguma’s 91,480.

He has since named Pharmacist Dr Mathews Owili as his running-mate in his bid to oust Ranguma.
