Ida Odinga Asks God to Forgive ODM for Conducting Shambolic Nominations

Opposition Leader Raila Odinga's wife, Ida Odinga has asked the Almighty God to forgive the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party.

Speaking in Kisumu, Ida admitted that there were flaws in the ODM nominations in some areas and asked for God's forgiveness.

“We know what happened in many places, and that primaries did not go well, but we ask God to forgive us,” Ida stated.

The former Prime Minister's wife also appealed to losers in the nominations to support NASA candidates and stop holding grudges.

She further requested ODM leaders to unite and work together, stating that campaigns had reached a critical stage, and political infighting might hurt the Opposition leader’s presidential bid in the August 8 polls.

“Politics is a game of democracy where we must have winners and losers. I am asking our brothers and sisters who missed the opportunity to clinch the ODM tickets to let go of their bitterness,” she stated.

Ms Odinga urged all residents to turn up in large numbers and vote for Raila, saying the winner would be determined by the number of people who will cast the ballot.

Her sentiments come only a few days after Deputy President William Ruto's wife, Rachael Ruto interceded on behalf of the Jubilee government asking Kenyans to forgive them for their failures in their first term.
