NASA Principal Raila Odinga Urges Supporters Not to Embarass Him By Electing Senator Mike Sonko

National Super Alliance (NASA) principal Raila Odinga has dismissed the ambitions of Jubilee's Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Mike Sonko, as the next governor.

Speaking at Nairobi’s Dagoretti area, Odinga stated that he would not want to be elected President come August and have Sonko as the Capital’s governor.

Odinga stated that it would be embarrassing if he were to be a NASA president and yet be received by a Jubilee governor at the airport.

“I don’t want to be a President of Kenya who goes out for a meeting and on returning, it is Jubilee’s Mike Sonko that is receiving me at the airport. It will be a shame,” said Odinga

He reiterated that he wanted to see Governor Evans Kidero re-elected in the August 8 polls and urged his supporters to back his candidature.

"Mimi sitaki kuwa rais halafu nakuja hapa ati gavana ni wa Jubilee. Sitaki kusikia mambo ya Sonko," (I don't want to be president then the governor comes from Jubilee. I don't want to hear anything to do with Sonko), added Odinga.

Accompanied by other city aspirants including Woman Rep aspirant Esther Passaris and Senate aspirant Edwin Sifuna, Odinga urged the residents to elect NASA candidates come August 8 polls.

The Opposition chief also took issue with the maize shortage in the country, accusing the Jubilee government of scheming on the commodity to gain political mileage.

“They want to withhold unga so that they will supply the basic commodity to people at the eve of elections and possibly sway voters to vote for President Kenyatta. We, NASA, know that plot and we are telling them that Kenyans are mature politically and we will send them home,” added Raila.
