Kenya's Trending Topics on 26th June 2017

Here are today's trending topics.

Jimi Wanjigi

The prominent Kenyan tenderpreneur trended on Monday as social media users discussed a  media report that indicated that Mr Wanjigi was in close association with National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

The article that ran in the Daily Nation states that: "He (Wanjigi) pulls the political strings at the top echelons of NASA, where he is the funds mobiliser, is now widely known and, according to some NASA insiders, he has personally bankrolled most of its campaigns, allowing them to use his private helicopter, registration 5Y-JWJ".

The article further described Wanjigi as the most feared man in Kenya whose influence spreads into the security sector, military, parastatals, Parliament, mainline civil service and the media.

Here are some of the tweets that were shared.

Jimi Wanjigi is the modern day Pablo. But Kenyans though...apparently he is clean when he supports RAO and dirty when he supports UK. SMH

Jimi Wanjigi didn't fund Mungiki in 2007, he didn't order the eviction of Kikuyus from RV. He is definitely not "Kenya's most feared man" pic.twitter.com/7LtQJGdTWR
