NASA Unveils 12-member Committee to Campaign in Diaspora

The National Super Alliance (NASA) led by flag bearer Raila Odinga has unveiled a new team that will popularise his presidential bid in the diaspora.

The 12-member team was announced on Tuesday and will be tasked with leading campaigns for the Opposition outfit ahead of the August General Election.

According to sources privy with the mandate of these campaigners, they will spearhead mobilisation of Odinga's supporters in USA, Asia, Australia, Europe and Canada.

Meanwhile, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC) has announced that the final register has 19.6 million voters including 4,393 in the diaspora who the new team will now be keen on wooing.

NASA unveiled the team a few hours before the official launch of its manifesto which will be done at the Ngong Race Course on Tuesday evening.

Among pillars included in the manifesto are; Economic Transparency, Democracy, National Integration, Inclusivity and Devolution.

The Alliance is promising to fully implement Devolution and enhance the country's financial management.

On Monday, the Jubilee Party, led by President Uhuru Kenyatta launched its manifesto anchored on three pillars; Transforming Lives, Transforming Society and Transforming the Nation.

Under Transforming Lives pillar, the Jubilee Party promises to transform health services, provide education and training for the 21st Century and to provide affordable, decent housing for Kenyans, ensuring safe and sufficient water for all, empowering youth, empowering women, promote sport, culture and the arts.

Under the Transforming Society pillar, the Jubilee Party promised to improve Governance, enhance justice and the fight against corruption, building a public service that is fit for service, building a united and cohesive nation, boost security and policing and continue support to devolution to bring government closer to the people.

Under the Transforming the Nation pillar, the Jubilee Party promises to take measures to make the economy more broad-based, inclusive and modern, building Kenya’s infrastructure for the 21st century, to transform Kenya’s Industry – Build Kenya, Buy Kenya, continue with reforms on land, agriculture and the environment, develop the blue economy, strengthen foreign relations and trade and build Africa’s silicon savannah and continue making the tourism sector more vibrant.
