DP William Ruto Should not Lecture Us on Corruption - NASA Leaders Declare

Opposition leaders on Thursday accused Deputy President William Ruto of hypocrisy and noted that he (Ruto) had no moral right to speak on corruption.

NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga while addressing a rally in Narok accused Ruto of speaking too much and taking no action.

“When they say some people are corrupt, why have they not taken action? That is hypocrisy of the highest order,” he stated.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho on his part attacked the DP over the recent cholera reports at the Weston hotel calling him kipindundu (cholera).

Joho challenged the DP to reveal the sources of his wealth before lecturing NASA on corruption.

“The choppers we are using have been donated by supporters and others have been hired. Can he tell us who is paying for their [Jubilee's] choppers?

“We hear you are buying hotels in Nairobi and Mombasa and building a Sh1 billion home in Uasin Gishu. Can you tell Kenyans your source of money? Ruto should be the last person to talk about corruption," the governor stated.

Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi on his part stated that Ruto was "chief priest of corruption" in the country and urged him to first remove the log in his eye before removing the speck in other people's eyes.

Kisumu East MP Shakeel Shabir said that Ruto was taking revenge on ODM after strategist Jimmy Wanjigi ditched Jubilee.

Homa Bay Women representative Gladys Wanga on her part noted that the DP's allegations were a case of "thief shouting thief."

The leaders made the remarks in response to DP Ruto's claims that they were being funded by corruption cartels.
