Jubilee Women Candidates Launch Initiative to Garner President Uhuru Kenyatta 100 percent Votes In Murang’a County

Women Jubilee candidates in Murang’a County have declared that they are determined to make sure NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga does not get a single vote in the region.

Woman representative Sabina Chege and Kandara MP Alice Wahome launched Sauti ya Mama Initiative to campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Chege and her counterparts were speaking at Murang’a Teachers College on Wednesday where she urged women to be more aggressive in lobbying for Uhuru and Deputy President William Ruto.

The group of more than 400 women is determined to deny Raila the 10,000 votes he got from the region in the 2013 elections by ensuring Uhuru garners all the votes in the county.

“Murang’a County is a Jubilee zone and we will ensure the President receives 100 percent of all votes cast,” Chege reaffirmed.

She stated that women were in a better position to campaign because they were more persuasive than men and assured that they would be dispatched to every part of the county to ensure every registered voter casts ballots for the Jubilee Government.

Chege also called on the women to vote for Jubilee candidates to give the president numbers in the Senate and the National Assembly.

“If the party gets fewer MPs it may create a crisis that could lead to the formation of a coalition government," she stated.

Wahome reiterated her colleague's words thanking the people of Murang’a for voting in three women MP including herself, Mary Waithera in Maragua and Ruth Mwaniki in Kigumo.
