Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko Attacked After Posting Tweet Quoting Jeremiah

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko found himself on the receiving end of online mockery after he posted a bible verse on his social media account.

Sonko, who is running for Nairobi Governor under a Jubilee ticket, accompanied the post with a picture of himself praying during a Sunday sermon.

On his tweet, he sampled a phrase from the book of Jeremiah chapter 29 verse 12 which states: God says, "Turn back to me and ask for help, and I will answer your prayers."

A section of Kenyans seized the moment to mock the Jubilee gubernatorial candidate asking him to pray for confidence to face his opponents in serious debates. These comments were elicited by Sonko's move to skip the first debate for Nairobi governorship candidates held last week on Thursday.

One user advised Sonko to seek counsel on how he was going to survive his political rival Miguna Miguna.

@MigunaMiguna is going to deconstruct you in the debate
