4 Men Die After Fight Over Phone in Limuru, Kiambu County

Four men have been reported dead in Limuru, Kiambu County, following a fight over a stolen phone.

The four included a three-man gang of thieves and a university student, Kelvin Kimani, who worked as a bouncer at the club where the phone was stolen.

According to an eye-witness, the three walked into the club that Mr Kimani was manning, stole a phone from a customer and stabbed the security officer who had moved closer to assess the cause of the commotion.

"The gang engaged in a nasty fight with the bouncer and ended up stabbing him three times in the stomach. He died on the spot due to excessive bleeding," the witness, Peter Kariuki, recounted.

The suspects are said to have fled from the murder scene and were pursued by boda-boda operators.

The riders caught up with the suspects and brought them back to the crime scene where angry members of the public burnt them to death.

Police collected the bodies and took them to Tigoni Hospital Mortuary, promising further investigations into the matter.
