Narok County Officials Ditch Jubilee for Chama Cha Mashinani

A section of Jubilee Party officials from Narok County has decamped to Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) which is in the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Led by branch Chairman Solomon Moriaso, the group which included 100 youth leaders from the area announced that they would back the Opposition in the August General Election.

Also in the team of defectors were a number of aspirants who contested for several posts in the April nomination.

The leaders, when being received by party leader Isaac Ruto blamed Narok Governor Samuel Tunai for forcing them out of Jubilee.

They claimed that the incumbent who seeking re-election on a Jubilee Party ticket did not have the interest of the electorate at heart thus making them decamp.

"Tunai is the one who made the Maasai people to move out of Jubilee because he does not have the interest of the people of Narok in his heart,” divulged Moriaso.

The politicians affirmed that they would support CCM governorship candidate Patrick Ole Ntutu as he seeks to unseat Tunai in the hotly contested race.

Speaking when receiving the group Ntutu noted that defection was a clear sign that Jubilee had lost support in the county.

On his part, Ruto asked the residents to support NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga who he said was the right person to lead the country.

“The latest pollsters show that Raila is ahead of President Uhuru Kenyatta and the most popular candidate in the county and that will also happen in the August 8 polls,” the Governor asserted.
