Jubilee Will Cut Electricity Supply in Kibera and Mathare on August 8 - Raila Claims

National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga has revealed that the government is planning to rig elections in Nairobi by cutting electricity supply in slum areas.

Speaking during a press conference on Friday, the Opposition leader accused Jubilee of plotting to interfere with the voting in Kibera and Mathare areas.

"There are plans to cut power and water in these areas in the pretext of containing cholera," he stated.

He added that the government was also plotting to deploy soldiers to forcefully inaugurate President Uhuru Kenyatta in the event he lost the elections.

"The attempt by Uhuru to involve some members of our military to interfere with the August 8 election is illegal and amounts to a coup," he stated.

His sentiments were echoed by NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka who noted that the Opposition had a document detailing how Jubilee would use the military to create a state of anarchy in order to stay in power.

The Wiper leader stated that some of the duties of the officers would be to disconnect power in various towns and cities.

He read out the names and contacts of officers who he claimed would be point men in Central Kenya, a region perceived to be the President's stronghold.

The opposition leaders further alleged that Jubilee had extra ballot papers that they would use in ballot stuffing in order to win the August polls.

"We suspect the ballot papers have already been printed; we don't know why IEBC is telling us to send agents to Al Ghurair," he added.

In June, Odinga accused the Jubilee administration of dragging the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) into politics which they maintained was unlawful.

Odinga claimed that selected officers were being trained for recruitment as polling and presiding officers to help rig the August General Election.
