Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi Asks Police to Arrest Moses Kuria in 48 Hours

Ugunja Member of Parliament (MP) James Opiyo Wandayi on Thursday called on the police to arrest and interrogate Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria over the killing of IEBC’s ICT manager Chris Msando.

Speaking during a campaign rally in Ugunja, the MP noted that Kuria should be arrested and charged with a variety of offences including interference with the scene of crime and issuance of misleading information regarding the disappearance and eventual death of Msando.

Mr Wandayi gave the police a 48-hour ultimatum to arrest the MP and compel him to write a statement on what he knew about the death failure to which Siaya County leaders would seek legal redress on the matter.

He further mentioned that the government should engage the services of international investigative agencies in establishing the killers of Mr Msando and the motive behind his murder.

Ugenya MP David Ochieng reiterated Wandayi's remarks adding that the government should take that matter seriously.

He explained that Kenyans had a right to know Msando’s killers if the government really cared about its people.

The ICT Manager was found dead on Saturday with his body being recovered alongside that of his friend Carol Ngumbo.

Autopsy reports on the two bodies revealed that the victims were strangled to death.

Police are investigating the murders and have already recorded statements from six persons of interest.
