NASA Leaders Endorse Former Interior CS Joseph Ole Lenku for Kajiado Governorship

A section of National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders has endorsed former Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Lenku for the Kajiado gubernatorial seat.

The leaders led by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Deputy Director of Elections Bob Njagi on Friday expressed their support for Lenku who is vying on a Jubilee ticket.

The team hit out at incumbent ODM Governor David Nkedianye who they accused of playing divisive politics.

They cited a case where NASA principals recently backed Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago who is seeking re-election on a Jubilee ticket.

"When NASA leaders went to campaign in Eldoret, they endorsed Mandago, who is the Jubilee candidate. We hope they will respect our decision to back Lenku because we feel he is the best-placed person to foster harmony among tribes living in the county," Njagi stated.

Last month, NASA principals led by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Isaac Ruto and Musalia Mudavadi endorsed  Mandago during a rally in Eldoret.

Later on Governor Mandago and Kapseret Member of Parliament (MP) Oscar Sudi declared their support for ODM Langas Ward candidate Charles Okumu.

Mandago and Sudi noted that they were reciprocating an earlier decision by NASA principals to endorse the governor.
