9 people have died and five others injured in a tragic road crash.
The accident occurred after a lorry collided with a matatu at Kipsitet in Kericho County.
The collision reportedly occurred after a Kisumu-bound truck lost control causing its cabin to disconnect and veer-off its lane.
The disconnected cabin reportedly crashed the matatu killing nine people on the spot.
Kericho County Commander James Mugera confirmed the incident stating that the bodies had been taken to Kericho District Hospital Mortuary.
Mr Mugera further noted that the injured had been taken to the same hospital for treatment.
