There was drama in Kiambu County on Monday afternoon when Incumbent Governor William Kabogo stormed a meeting convened by the IEBC and Security agencies to meet candidates vying for different positions.
The governor, who showed up unannounced, claimed that he had not been invited to the meeting that started at 11 am.
He alleged that Jubilee candidates were being favoured as there were plans to lock out agents of independent candidates from the polling stations.
Kabogo, who is the Chairman of Kenya Alliance of Independent Candidates demanded assurance from the IEBC officials that their agents would be allowed into all the polling stations.
“I want the County commissioner and commandant to assure that our agents will be allowed into polling stations with modified badges,” he demanded.
The IEBC officials confirmed that the agents would be allowed into the polling stations with or without the badges as they already had a party agents lists to confirm the names.
Other allegations raised by other candidates were that there police officers who had been compromised to carry out rigging during the elections.
