Voters Issued With Wrong MCA Ballot Papers at Nairobi Road Polling Station in Nakuru County

Voters at the Nairobi Road Polling Station in Nakuru County were left confused after they discovered that they had been issued with the wrong ballot papers.

The ballot for Member of County Assembly (MCA) election did not contain the names of the candidates vying in the Nakuru East ward.

The Ward, in Nakuru Town East Constituency, received the right package of ballot papers, however, the contents of the package did not match the right ballot.

According to Nakuru County IEBC Returning Officer Silas Rotich, the polling station received MCA ballot papers for a Kirinyaga County Ward.

Mr Rotich noted that the ballot mix up has affected approximately 600 voters.

The mix-up has caused a delay in voting at the polling station as the electoral team moves in to resolve the matter.

In a separate incident, voters from Malindi Constituency in Kilifi County were stranded after IEBC officials failed to show up in two polling stations on time.

The officials finally turned up with the materials at 8am and begun setting up as voters waited.
