Interesting Details About IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba, who has in the last few days been a common face in the media due to elections, has gained fame for reasons far from his job description.

Chiloba has become an object of fascination for women on social media with most sharing notes about his handsome features and coining his name into 'Chilobae'.

At 38 years old, Ezra Simiyu Chiloba is one of the youngest CEOs in Kenya’s history to ever oversee the country’s primary electoral body.

Like his boss Wanyonyi Wafula Chebukati, Chiloba comes from Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.

He is the Founding Director of Policy House a public policy consulting group with a special focus on Africa. The firm strives to provide innovative solutions to economic, social and political problems using new ideas and approaches relevant to our times and continent.

Chiloba is currently studying for a Ph.D. in Political Science and Government at the University of Nairobi (UON). He previously attained an Undergraduate Degree in Law at UON and Masters in Arts at the Central European University.

The IEBC boss begins his day at 4 am and ends it at around midnight. He believes that if one wants to be among the best and rise through the ranks, they have to get up early.

“We are all allotted 24 hours each day. We share the same air, infrastructure, among other things. However, it is through these traits that one distinguishes himself or herself from others,” the IEBC CEO is on record saying.

Chiloba is a renowned philanthropist. In 2011 he supported society members with free legal advice and management that enabled more than 100 families eligible to acquire title deeds after waiting for over 35 years. A significant proportion of the members has already received their title deeds.

During the declaration of the presidential results at the Bomas of Kenya on Friday IEBC Commissioner Roselyn Akombe announced that Chiloba was married after what she termed as numerous inquiries by women on the Google search engine.

“Our CEO is happily married and he is not a Muslim,” Akombe stated.
