NASA Leaders Hit IEBC With New Conditions for Them to Participate in Elections

National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders have today hit the IEBC with three new demands before fresh presidential elections are conducted in November.

Speaking in Mathare, Nairobi, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula who was accompanied by his NASA Co-principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi noted that the electoral body must recruit new Returning Officers in all constituencies to allow for a smooth election.

Secondly, Senator Wetangula called for a clean up in the Commission. He noted that there were some officials of IEBC who had allowed for the commitment of fraud, adding that they should be sent home and punished.

Lastly, Wetangula announced that the electoral agency should cut ties with Al Ghurair printing firm before the fresh polls.

The former Senate Minority Leader noted that IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati had immersed himself into massive trouble because he had refused to listen to their warning regarding the Dubai-based printing firm.

He further noted that the company could not be trusted as they had printed ballot papers without the required security features.

The rally was the first public meeting held by the Opposition Leaders after the Supreme Court ruling.

Other NASA leaders who spoke at the rally echoed Wetangula's statement urging IEBC to clean up before the elections.

Other leaders including Legislators Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino (Embakasi East) Simba Arati (Dagoretti North) and Siaya Senator James Orengo attacked President Uhuru Kenyatta over his remarks regarding the Supreme Court ruling where he stated that six people could not overturn the will of the majority.

The Opposition Legislators explained that the President was not above the law adding that he should respect the courts.
