The national government has announced plans to set up a new house for the Deputy President next to the State House in Mombasa County.
The government will convert what used to be the official residence of the Provincial Commissioner (PC) into the new residence for the DP in the region.
In the latest edition of the government advertising publication, My Gov, contractors have been encouraged to make tender applications for the conversion works.
"There shall be a pre-tender site visit on September 14th, 2017 at 11.00 am. Tenders in plain sealed envelopes should be addressed to; Principal Administrative Secretary, Office of the Deputy President P.O Box 74434-00200, Nairobi not later than September 26th, 2017 at 10.00 am," the advert goes on to state.
The new property will be the second official residence for the DP with the other being the Sh400 Million house on a 10-acre piece of land in Karen, Nairobi.
The Nairobi property has several houses including two 3 bedroom maisonettes, one for the house keeper and the other for the DP as well as houses for security officers and the rest of the staff.
