Jubilee's Raphael Tuju Attacks Raila Odinga on Citizen TV

Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju on Wednesday issued a series of scathing remarks targetted at the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga.

Mr Tuju had been asked to comment on the Opposition leader's recent statement, in which Mr Odinga rejected the October 17th date IEBC set for a fresh presidential poll.

The Jubilee official responded with a dismissive "When Odinga says ‘there will be no election’…who does he think he is?".

Mr Tuju went on to accuse the former Prime Minister of "tribalising" the Judiciary in his recent comments about Chief Justice David Maraga while on a tour of Kisii County.

"There is a lot of hypocrisy in criticizing the President (Uhuru Kenyatta). Odinga has tribalised the Judiciary. Can you imagine if we said Wafula Chebukati is from Bungoma and play the ethnic card like they are doing with Maraga?

"There should have been outrage when Odinga threatened the Judiciary. When they tribalise this thing, to me, that is the most dangerous thing," Tuju stated.

He continued to describe the Opposition's statement on the repeat election date as "always acting up like teenagers".

Mr Tuju, who spoke during a show on Citizen TV, also accused the Opposition leader of not acting "presidential", stating that the country holds President Kenyatta at a much higher esteem than they do the NASA leader.

"To some extent, I am happy Odinga isn’t held in the same standard the public holds Uhuru," he stated.

Tuju's statements were received with contempt among some of the NASA supporters.
