NASA MP Reveals How Petition to Remove Maraga Was Secretly Prepared

Homa Bay Town parliamentarian Peter Kaluma has alleged that Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu is playing proxy for President Uhuru Kenyatta in filing the petition against Chief Justice David Maraga.

The Homa Bay Town MP told journalists that he heard that the petition would be filed three days earlier and that another case would be filed seeking to overturn the Supreme Court ruling.

"I knew that petition would be coming three days ago and that is the time I heard and knew it was being finalised.

"This petition was to be followed by another one seeking to challenge or review the decision of the Supreme Court. You will see this either today or tomorrow," Mr Kaluma revealed.

The Opposition MP went on to outline that the Nyeri Town MP had been strictly instructed to file the petition before meeting the President back in Nyeri County, where he was expected to officially open the Nyeri Agricultural Trade Fair.

"Wambugu is the MP for Nyeri Town and the President is in that constituency today (Thursday). I also know of instructions given to him that he could not be in Nyeri to receive the President unless he had the petition already lodged," Kaluma intimated.

The Homa Bay legislator further alleged that the petition was actually President Kenyatta's and Ngunjiri was a stand-in.

"I think we are mentioning the name Ngunjiri for far too long. This is a petition of President Uhuru Kenyatta against Maraga.

"Kenyans should not forget how the President received the decision of the Supreme Court he said that he was going to 'fix' judge Maraga and other members the Supreme Court," the MP recounted.

Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju on Thursday, however, stated that the petition was filed by an individual - Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wanbugu - and not the party.
