Jimmy Wanjigi Reveals His Life is Under Threat, Demands State Security

Billionaire businessman Jimmy Wanjigi has written to Inspector General (IG) of Police Joseph Boinnet requesting to be accorded State security at his own cost, claiming his life is in grave danger.

Through his lawyer Elizabeth Karoki, Mr Wanjigi alleged that he is being constantly trailed, day and night by unknown vehicles.

He further claims that on September 8th, a top State House official visited him at his home and warned him of a real and imminent threat to his life.

Wanjigi reported the matter to Gigiri Police Station and it was recorded under OB number 14/10/9/2.

“This is, therefore, to bring to the attention of your good office the above subject matter for your urgent intervention and further necessary action by way of providing our client with adequate police security at his cost before any harm is visited on him,” Wanjigi stated in the letter.

Jimmy Wanjigi is one of the National Super Alliance's (NASA) backers. He believes this might have something to do with the threat to his life.

He claims he is being targeted for his political leanings and persuasions, alleging a systematic onslaught on him that was precipitated by an explosive publication that appeared in one of the dailies in the run-up to the August polls.

He further demands that his right to make political choices, including supporting a political party or a cause be protected.

The billionaire power-broker has stated that the stories being circulated about him are fake and meant to create room for the plot against his life.

Officers at the Gigiri Police Station have announced that the matter is being investigated.
