National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga has today made new revelations concerning an alleged link between the Jubilee Party, IEBC and OT-Morpho, the French firm behind the Kenya Integrated Elections Management Systems (KIEMS).
Flanked by Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi at a Sunday press conference, Mr Odinga stated: "We also have information of the link between Safran Morpho and senior officials of Jubilee, their local partners. We even know how commisions have been paid through a legal company in town (Nairobi) to some officials in IEBC and also to Jubilee officials."
Questioned on whether he was alleging money changed hands to influence the election outcome, Raila responded: "Certainly. Not probably."
The NASA Co-Principals took the occassion to reiterate their call for major structural and personnel changes at the electoral body.
Mr Odinga dismissed OT Morpho's announcement that an audit had shown no evidence of hacking, insisting that the company cannot be allowed to audit themselves.
He stated that the court order allowing them read-only access to IEBC server logs revealed 3,500 attempts to log into the system before the election. He claimed that the email dkchirchir@gmail.com was used to access the server a day before the election. Mr Davis Chirchir was Jubilee's Chief agent in the August polls.
He also questioned the involvement of Dubai-based printing firm Al Ghurair, alleging that the company was on standby waiting to print ballot papers and forms for the fresh polls.
The leaders claimed Al Ghurair is synonymous with rigged elections in many African countries. Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka also cited a case where Safran was found guilty of paying bribes to secure a contract in Nigeria as 'confirming their case'.
The leaders were headed to a rally at Jacaranda Grounds in Embakasi, Nairobi after the press conference.
The electoral body has announced a joint meeting with Jubilee and NASA teams this week.
