President Uhuru Kenyatta's State House Officer Set for Cabinet Appointment

An officer currently serving President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House is set to take up a seat in Nairobi County's Cabinet following a strong recommendation from the President's official residence.

Mr Peter Kariuki, a legal officer, is poised for appointment as Nairobi County's Chief of Staff should Governor Mike Sonko follow the advice from State House.

According to a Standard news report, Governor Sonko will make the appointments under the strict scrutiny from top Jubilee party officials.

Jubilee Party will monitor the County Executive Committee (CEC) appointments as the party seeks to play a major role in helping Governor Sonko transform the city.

The Governor has already advertised the 10 CEC and County Secretary vacancies calling for applications from qualified and interested persons.

On his part, Sonko has assured residents of Nairobi that the appointments will be made with their best interest at heart.

"I was elected by Nairobi voters and will strive to serve all residents. Much as my campaign team expects rewards, I will ensure that they are persons with requisite skills from different professional fields," the Governor declared.
