Jubilee leaders from Laikipia county have cautioned their supporters in the county against "underrating" the National Super Alliance (NASA).
The grassroots leaders stated that the Opposition's strength in the cosmopolitan county was rising, therefore, a keen strategy will be needed to win votes for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Led by former Laikipia West MP aspirant Mwangi Gitonga, the leaders met to deliberate on strategies to neutralize the NASA wave within the region.
Mr Gitonga further called on the elected Jubilee party leaders not to sideline their worthy opponents who lost in the elections.
He noted that the political losers were essential during this period as the elected leaders, both at county and national levels were busy undergoing induction and as such, have limited time to campaign for the President before October 26.
"We value and respect them (elected leaders) and we are in no collusion with them," Gitonga assured.
Noting that the county is made up of 14 different ethnic communities, the leaders explained that respect for culture would be an essential strategy to campaign in the region.
"Laikipia West constituency has 110,000 registered voters and about 64,000 votes were secured by Jubilee's Patrick Mariru we need to tap those ‘lost’.
"The effects of the bungled Jubilee party nominations may recur in the presidential re-run if the campaigns are not properly handled, leading to loss of votes for the President," Gitonga warned.
